Mindfulness training is a philosophy of living fully and completely by teaching us the skills to remain non-reactive no matter what we experience. Living in this way doesn’t change what happens in our life, but it changes our relationship to it. It allows us to remain equanimous and clear-sighted, as if we were a mountain and our experiences were clouds. The mountain remains still as it observes the thunderstorms, rainbows and sunshine.
Mindfulness training can affect all aspects of our lives, such as diet, relationships or personal growth. Seventh Element, founded by Priscilla Szneke, teaches these skills in a variety of formats and utilizes the cushion, yoga and lecture/discussion to impart these skills in a way that is accessible to all participants.
